Definitions

Void: an empty space or vacuum. Fluorescent: able to give off visible light after being exposed to a source of heat, light, or other form of energy Vulnerable: able to be hurt or injured Interconnected: to connect or cause to be connected one to the other or others. Seldom: not often; rarely.

Example/Non Example	Is a void messy? Why or why not?	No because it is an empty space so it doesn’t have anything in it.
	Which color is the most fluorescent at night? Why?	Silver Because when light goes on to it it reflects off like on cones with the silver tape.
	Why are elderly people more vulnerable than children? Why?	Because the are getting older and it is harder to stay balanced and they don’t always know what they are doing.
	Which is more interconnected; a vine or a dandelion? Why?	A vine because the grow and connect and get bigger and bigger.
	Which is more seldom; the Olympics or an election in NZ? Why?	The Olympics because they are every four years and an election in NZ is every three years.

Word Relationships How might each pair of words be connected?	Vulnerable/Fluorescent	because when you are vulnerable you are able to be hurt and a fluorescent is something able to give off visible light after being exposed.
	Void/interconnected	because a void can be a vacuum and that can connect things together inside. When you have interconnected something it is caused to be connected.

Extended Writing

Think of a time when you felt as though you were in a void or when you saw something that happens seldom. Write a paragraph about this.

I saw someone get a half court as a buzzer beater in a game of basketball.They just throw the ball and it went in the hoop as a swish. That doesn’t happen a lot so i was surprised that it went in and i can’t even get the distance of one. Then that one shot made them win the game by one point. When they were dribbling up the court the could see the clock counting down 3,2,1 and when the clock hit one the ball was out of the players hands and in the hoop. The person who got the shoot in was obviously happy with themselves and they need to win that game because it was the final.
